dc.description.abstractThis study was performed in order to determine the genus of Orchis L. (Orchidaceae) species growing in Edirne. Morphological characters, detailed drawings and distributions of 8 species of the genus Orchis growing around Edirne, most particularly inside the A1 (E) square constituting our study area, were reported. The studied species are O. coriophora L., O. tridentata Scop., O. purpurea Hudson, O. simia Lam., O. morio L. subsp. morio, O. papilionacea L. var. rubra (Jacq. ex Murray) Brot., O. pinetorum Boiss. amp; Kotschy and O. laxiflora Lam.en_US
