Özet
Adriatic- Ionian Initiative (AII) did not draw attention in Turkish literature. Unlike AII, Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is a well-known international organization in Turkey. Thus BSEC is used as a tool to make a comparison to AII for having similar features like being defined on sea basins, having similar objectives, having some mutual members and witnessing political problems. AII can be considered as a successful organization in terms of reaching the goals that were set out in the founding documents, while BSEC is unsuccessful regarding the same issue. The interpretation of cultural and economic cooperation in thesis of Clash of Civilizations was applied and it has been concluded that Europeanization is the key for success of one of these organizations and failure of other.
