This randomised controlled study was conducted between April 2022 and October 2022 at the cardiology clinic of a university health research and application centre in Turkey. The study was conducted with 64 patients-32 in the experimental and 32 in the control group. Data were collected using a patient information form and the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). A significance level of p < 0.05 was accepted. The results showed that the mean scores of the State Anxiety Inventory were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group, and the mean scores of the Trait Anxiety Inventory were significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (both p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the intervention in the experimental group led to a significant decrease in anxiety levels. This study demonstrated that foot reflexology significantly affected anxiety in patients planning for cardiac implantable electronic devices. The participants in the experimental group had significantly higher state anxiety levels than those in the control group after the intervention, but their trait anxiety levels were significantly lower than those in the control group after the reflexology application.Öğe Evaluation of Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT ratio and Tp-e/QTc ratio in patients with acute myocarditis(Bmc, 2019) Ucar, Fatih Mehmet; Ozturk, Cihan; Yilmaztepe, Mustafa AdemBackground Acute myocarditis (AM) can be defined as an inflammatory disease of the myocardium and characterized by large heterogeneity of clinical presentation. Myocarditis is becoming increasingly recognized as a contributor to unexplained mortality, and is thought to be a major cause of sudden cardiac death in the first two decades of life. The present study aimed to search the assessment of repolarization dispersion measured from the 12-lead surface electrocardiogram (including Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT and Tp-e/QTc ratios) in AM patients. Methods Totally 56 patients (mean age was 22 +/- 3.7 years and 67% of the patients were male) with AM and 56 control subjects (23 +/- 4.7 years and 64% of the patients were male) were enrolled. Tp-e intervals, Tp-e/QT and Tp-e/corrected QT (QTc) ratios were calculated from 12-lead electrocardiogram. Results Heart rate, QT and QTc values were similar between groups. QRS interval was lower in AM group compared to the control group (p < 0.001). Tp-e, Tp-e/QT and Tp-e/ QTc were significantly higher in AM group (p < 0.001, p < 0.001, p = 0.03 respectively) and they were significantly correlated with high troponin and high sensitive C reactive protein levels. In hospital follow-up time was 6 +/- 2 days. Four patients have non sustained ventricular tachyarrhythmias and 1 patient dead because of cardiac arrest. Conclusions Our study demonstrated that Tp-e intervals, Tp-e/QT and Tp-e/QTc ratios were higher in patients with AM than control subjects. The increased frequency of ventricular arrhythmias can be clarified by increased indexes of ventricular repolarization parameters in patients with AM.Öğe Fever-induced type-1 Brugada pattern: A sign of revealed Brugada syndrome or just a Brugada phenocopy?(Polish Cardiac Soc-Polskie Towarzystwo Kardiologiczne, 2022) Yalta, Kenan; Taylan, Gokay; Ozturk, Cihan; Yalta, Tulin[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Fistulous coronary artery aneursyms: Further insights into mechanistic and clinical implications(Elsevier Espana Slu, 2021) Yalta, Kenan; Ozturk, Cihan; Yalta, Tulin; Yetkin, Ertan[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Fragmented QRS Pattern in Patients with COVID-19: Further Insights into Its Temporal and Mechanistic Features(Aves, 2022) Taylan, Gokay; Ozturk, Cihan; Yalta, Kenan[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Giant Saccular Aneurysm of the Right Coronary Artery(H M P Communications, 2021) Ozturk, Cihan; Ebik, Mustafa[Abstract Not Available]Öğe How to Manage Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator Protection in an Implantable Cardiac Defibrilla tor-Dependent Patient Undergoing Palliative Radiotherapy?(Kare Publ, 2023) Ozturk, Cihan; Yilmaz, Efe; Taylan, Gokay; Gok, Murat; Yalta, Kenan[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Impact of chronic total occlusion in a non-infarct-related coronary artery on contrast-associated nephropathy in acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2023) Gok, Murat; Kurtul, Alparslan; Taylan, Gokay; Ozturk, Cihan; Cakir, Burcu; Yilmaz, Efe; Altay, ServetObjectives Co-existing chronic total occlusion (CTO) in a non-infarct-related artery (IRA) might serve as an important trigger of adverse outcomes in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Therefore, we planned to analyse the potential impact of non-IRA CTO on the evolution of contrast-associated nephropathy (CAN) in STEMI patients managed with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI). Methods A total of 537 subjects with STEMI undergoing P-PCI during the first 12 h after the onset of their symptoms were enrolled in this retrospective study. The subjects were categorised based on the angiographic presence of non-IRA CTO. Moreover, the subjects were also divided into 2 groups based on their CAN status following P-PCI (CAN (+) and CAN (-)). Results Co-existing non-IRA CTO was demonstrated in 86 subjects (16%). During the hospitalisation period, we identified 81 (15.1%) subjects with CAN. Subjects with non-IRA CTO had a significantly higher incidence of CAN compared with those without (56 [12.4%] vs 25 [29.1%], respectively, p < 0.001). In a logistic regression analysis, an existing non-IRA CTO (odds ratio: 2.840, 95%CI: 1.451-5.558, p = 0.002), as well as age, haemoglobin, diabetes mellitus, creatinine, and white blood cell count, were independent of predictors of CAN. Conclusion In STEMI patients managed with P-PCI, a co-existing non-IRA CTO had an independent association with the evolution of CAN.Öğe Intracoronary fibrinolysis: An effective yet underutilized therapeutic strategy in clinical practice(Aves, 2021) Yalta, Kenan; Ozturk, Cihan; Yalta, Tulin; Ozkan, Ugur[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Late Coronary Aneurysm Formation after Kawasaki Disease: a Review of Mechanistic and Clinical Aspects(Korean Soc Cardiology, 2021) Yalta, Kenan; Yalta, Tulin; Yetkin, Ertan; Ozturk, CihanIn patients with Kawasaki disease (KD), evolution of coronary artery aneurysms (CAAs) generally emerges within the first few weeks after disease onset. However, CAA formation in these patients might occasionally arise as a late-onset phenomenon after a long latent period. Characteristically, late CAAs manifest as new-onset vascular pathologies or expansion of long-stable CAAs on coronary imaging modalities, and might have diverse mechanistic and clinical implications. Accordingly, the present paper aims to focus on late CAA formation and its implications in the setting of KD.Öğe Left ventricle pseudoaneurysm detected eight months after myocardial infarction(Turkish Soc Cardiology, 2019) Yilmaztepe, Mustafa Adem; Ozturk, Cihan; Ucar, Fatih Mehmet; Kaya, Caglar; Gurdogan, Muhammet[Abstract Not Available]Öğe MINOCA?
