Öğe EFFECTS OF AZADIRACHTIN ON THE SUNN PEST, EURYGASTER INTEGRICEPS PUT. (HETEROPTERA, SCUTELLERIDAE) IN THE LABORATORY(Univ Zagreb, Fac Agriculture, 2005) Kivan, MujganTo investigate the effect of azadirachtin on different stages of the sunn pest, Eurygaster integriceps Put. ( Het., Scutelleridae) in the laboratory, a commercial neem insecticide (NeemAzal T/S) was applied at dose of 0.5 % by dipping insects. No effect was observed for 1. instar nymphs at 1 day after application, although adults had slightly effect ( 20 %). Adults and nymphs were influenced 7 days after the treatment and mortality rates for adults and nymphs were recorded 44.0 and 51.9 %, respectively. The hatching of treated eggs was reduced than control. These results indicate that NeemAzal T/S may be used in integrated sunn pest management, but should be evaluated for field efficacy.Öğe Pathogenicity of entomopathogenic fungi, Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae var anisopliae (Deuteromycotina: Hyphomycetes) against Eurygaster integriceps (Heteroptera: Scutelleridae)(E Schweizerbartsche Verlags, 2007) Kivan, MujganThe pathogenicity of 4 fungal isolates of Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin 1912 and I isolate of Metarhizium anisopliae var anisopliae (Metschnikoff 1879) Sorokin 1883 to adult sunn bug, Eurygaster integriceps Puton 1881 was tested under laboratory conditions. One isolate (Bb-1) originated from E integriceps (Tekirdag, Turkey), other isolates (5665, 1394 and 6444, respectively) originated from ARSEF collections, Eurygaster Laporte 1832 sp (Turkey), Lygus Hahn 1833 sp (France), Locusta migratoria Linnaeus 1758 (patented, commercialized strain) and one isolate (3540) M anisopliae from Galleria mellonella (Linnaeus 1758) (USA). A single exposure concentration (1 x 10(6) conidia/ml) assay for each isolate was used by immersing the adults in 10 ml of a fungal suspension for 5 s. Mortality ranged from 40.0 to 82.5% in B bassiana, while the mortality was 100.0% in M anisopliae at 8 days after treatment. The test isolates caused a significantly different mortality compared to the untreated control at 12 days post-application. When the data of mortality was corrected by Abbott formula, the obtained isolate, Bb-1 had significantly lower effect than those of the ARSEF fungal isolates and. anisopliae was most virulent fungus to E integriceps adults.
