Investigation of the efficacy of tenoxicam in the treatment of acne vulgaris

Background and design. Several clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the treatment of acne vulgaris. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we investigated the efficacy of tenoxicam a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug in 35 patients with acne vulgaris. Results. A significant decrease in the numbers of papules, cysts and nodules in patients who were treated with tenoxicam as compared with the placebo group.
